I created Philadelphia’s National Alliance of Medication Assisted Recovery (NAMA) 2014 to advocate for the expansion of MAT for people from diverse communities who lives were affected by the opioid epidemic. My knowledge obtained through working at Philadelphia’s Office of Addiction Services, and combination of my own lived experienced provided the knowledge to share awareness for the lack of equity of healthcare, socio-economic benefits and community supports for underserved citizens of Philadelphia.
To use the lens of recovery to translate the complexities of whole person resiliency, thereby deepening the understanding of those recovery patterns that can be woven into the natural fabric of healthy lives because all recovery matters.
